Meet the Graduating BFA Artists of the Exhibition:

Reemergence

Ashley Lopez

Photographer

Ashley Lopez is a photographer from the San Luis Valley, Colorado, raised in the small town of Sanford. She is currently working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at Adams State University. She mostly works with digital photography, but enjoys several alternative photographic processes. She plans to pursue a photography job in New York City after graduation.

Blake Parsons

Painter

Based in Alamosa Colorado, painter Blake Parsons has been honing his craft since 2014.  He has painted a variety of subjects but has narrowed his focus to old cars and trucks. He enjoys sharing the stories that lie beneath their rust.  Borrowing from his background in photography, Blake uses his original photos as a reference for his dramatic and expressive oil paintings.  Blake plans to continue painting while opening a small art supply store and gallery in Alamosa.  He plans to give back to the community by starting a small recovery support group where art can be used as an outlet for those suffering from addiction.

Crystal Pautler

Photographer

Crystal-Nicole G. Pautler is an art student at Adams State University, in Alamosa, Colorado, who specializes in photography. She enjoys using her many antique cameras, and adjusting them through the light setting and the chemical process, to capture all types of interesting images of landscapes, and of animals in their natural settings. Crystal’s favorite type of photography, is black and white analog and digital images, set in the raw state of the camera, which captures the soul, or the essence, through heart, shadow, and spark of any subject, immortalizing that being or location through the lens of her camera, and Crystal’s eye for beauty.

Jackson Sayler

Sculptor

Colorado-based contemporary artist, Jackson Sayler, has been honing his skills in sculpture, jewelry and unique sketching techniques for the past several years. He discovered the arts in 2015 and has been pursuing a BFA with an emphasis in sculpture ever since. He strives to find authenticity within himself. His recent work is an installation that investigates cubism and performance art. Living in the San Luis Valley for the past six years, he has involved himself with the running community, the outdoor adventure community, and the art community. He hopes to continue his investigation of the arts by pursuing graduate school in the next few years.

Elizabeth Wolters

Graphic Designer

Elizabeth Wolters is a graphic designer and illustrator from southern Colorado. Her work commonly makes use of artistic elements found in both graphic design and fine art which causes her work to blur those lines and create designs that explore concepts more commonly explored with fine art. Elizabeth is also a devout Christian who strives to use her artistic abilities to not only share her beliefs but to deepen her own walk in faith. When she’s not creating artwork, she spends her time playing clarinet, saxophone, and singing.
